You know what’s funny? Porsche targeting Tesla is actually like a Sith (Tesla) luring a Jedi (Porsche) into the dark side. If Porsce succeeds with the Mission E, Tesla succeeds. Their mission is to fight the combustion cars, not other electrics.

Is that the point, though? I can’t find the exact quote, but I seem to recall someone from Tesla (possibly Musk himself) saying that Tesla’s “mission” was not necessarily profit, but to innovate and inspire other automakers to invest more in things like electric vehicles and driverless cars.

Not when the property is their source of income and if prospective clients see a “bunch of Junk”, they rightfully think there’s going to be other antics/noise/etc that they don’t want to live near. I get it, but the approach and discretion that the landlord uses is the key here.

I am prepared to be flamed.

Actually you bring up a very good point. Search the Leaf forums. Nissan dealers are universally reviled as being completely ignorant of the Leaf, reluctant to sell it, and often times actively attempt to steer sales to other cars.

Factually incorrect. If you mean ultrahigh REPAIR you may have a point. And that will improve. It has to. EVs have massively fewer moving or lubricated parts. MAINTENANCE on the other hand is virtually zero.

You completely missed Tesla’s point. Their cars are different because they are electric. Not because they’re high-tech or hip or whatever. What other industry forbids sales by the manufacturer? It’s political cronyism at it’s worst. “sorry sir we can’t sell you our macbook directly, visit one of our dealerships, they

As LionZoo points out: Tesla’s argument revolves around the fact that current dealer business models would not function with a low maintenance EV. Dealers make little profit off of new car sales. The service of those cars is what butters the bread and this won’t work with a once a year (optional) Tesla.

Hi Kristen,

Why are we still getting hung up on “Beta”? Christ, maybe Elon dug himself a hole with the “autopilot” and “beta” terminology but they don’t actually mean what everyone here seems to think they mean. It’s a fully sussed out road ready stage two cruise control with lane keeping system with a few extra bells and

Beyond user error. Idiocy would be a better term if the interview proves to be legit.

So still user error then.

Yeah... not a good road to be using autopilot on, especially at night, and when Mr. Pang said he had the speed set at 60mph but the warning sign before where the wreck happened advised a speed of 45mph for the winding road.

I can’t find the interview, but Mr. Pang was quoted as saying he doesn’t understand any English whatsoever, so he had no idea what the all English system warnings, user agreements, or commands to retake control of the vehicle meant, so he ignored them. Trying to use an autopilot system in an unfamiliar area, at night,

Yeah! Who needs a catalytic converter? Or unleaded gasoline for that matter? If the gosh darn gubment would stop taking away our freedom to breathe poison, we’d be allowed to drive around our Aryan oil burners!

It’ll also shut of cruise-control. If this is a problem, then it’s a decades-old one.

real talk: i have a friend who runs a sustainable clothing start up and they pay fortune magazine for press about them. fortune magazine is an advertorial. elon musk calling attention to that isn’t him being cranky - we like elon musk because he reminds us of the tony stark we all want the world to have: vocal CEO of

Excellent.

Temporary solution until Musk is able to implement the giant space sunshade.

Be careful out there; vary from the recommended pressure by even half a psi, and this could be your car crashing.
