Well, if planes could just take off and not land, they would most certainly be cheaper. However you’d have to build them all over again for each flight. On the long run, the cost advantages of re-using 1st stages are absolutely huge.

What are you talking about? Solar planes can’t fly during night times... The team had to fix some parts in Hawaii for a few weeks and then they had to wait for the next window. The project is relying solely on solar exposure. Being in the northern hemisphere, they had to wait until spring to get enough solar exposure.
