Off-road beast of my dreams? Puh-leeze. Not only is the off-roading a huge disappointment, clearly this Dirt Everyday build (if you can call it that) followed a put-forth-minimum-effort-and-maximize-youtube-hits formula:

The Axel seems to have no rear axle. How is that rear wheel attached?

Yeah, I’d expect some incentives. I believe employees already get good deals on Model S leases.

True. I was adding up the out of pocket due right now. The credits certainly help.

I just read in another article that only Long Range version is available now. Previously, it was reported that only options for first batch was the color and wheels, which we see now are $1500 and $1000 options. During the video pans of the first 30 vehicles, I saw a lot of premium wheels and colors other than black.

So what DOES float your boat, if anything? Are you more of a American V8 fan? Imports? When I was in the market for a roadster (this is 15 years ago), i drove everything (S2000, TT, Z3) and the Boxster’s handling, precise feedback, and - that engine sound! - are what won me over. I pretty much knew after 5 minutes

It’s a little high for the 1999-2001 model of the 996, even though mileage is not too bad for a car that’s nearly old enough to vote. I’d vote CP.

“will be offered with a variety of powerplants including gas, hybrid, diesel and our relevant all-electric version.”

I want to know how that truck was driven into that garage.

Ditto. And it had a track editor! The Indy car was my favorite - once you jumped the Indy car, it would stick at the top speed (250mph?) until it hit something. We spent waaaay too much time building crazy tracks that the Indy car could run at top speed.

I prefer the sharper edge styling of the LR3/4 (biased: I own a LR3) for something with offroader DNA. But overall it’s handsome... EXCEPT for the asymmetrical rear trim!! Hurts my brain to look at it. Why do this JLR???!?

Isn’t “my cousin’s brothers Mustang” actually “my cousin’s Mustang”?

Doesn’t look like an Eddie Bauer. No tan exterior trim (except for the tire cover), it has manual crank windows, and the tan EB seats would not have come factory with a red interior. This looks like parts thrown onto a base model.  CP for misrepresenting the vehicle.

You are forgetting about the direction of the force! The 1G force of gravity is always pulling in a vertical direction (towards the center of the earth). That’s why your Beetle doesn’t float away. To measure the vehicle’s G force when accelerating, we are looking at the horizontal direction (assuming a flat road to

Yep, I remember that storm very well. I was working-class and living in the Cary suburbs by then, though. NCSU class of ‘97 - go pack :)

NCSU grad here! One year we had a surprise daytime snowstorm and the School Board decided to close schools early. The buses got stuck trying deliver kids, and parents got stuck trying to pick up their kids since the buses were stuck, and chaos ensued. Some kids actually spent the night at school...

I’m sorry he got seriously injured, but the flight path he chose was risking life and limb most of the way. I feel for him, but it doesn’t compel me to donate to his medical fund.

With Ken Bone’s newfound fame, here’s my prediction

A first-year 996 with a quarter million miles? I’d love to hear about how that transaction came about.
