Good news!  Fusion power’s just a mere 20 years away, right?

The things that worry me about this idea is that if they had done it, and it worked:

I have some degree of training with bladed implements with blade lengths ranging from 3 inches to 30 inches, as well as some training with firearms. I know how deadly a knife of that length, and a pistol, can both be.

But, here’s the thing: VodkaRocks&aPieceofToast absolutely has the right of it in their post above

Muckled damn cult!! ‘Air eh namblies be keepin’ me wee free men?!”

My brain can't process why one would willingly sit in this chair, but, hey, more power to you, and I'm on board with you getting one.

My ‘73 Thing wasn’t my first car. That title belonged to the ‘73 Super Beetle I had for 6 years, before it got totaled in a car accident. It was, however, my second car, and the car I owned the longest out of any of the ones I’ve had: I had mine for 16 years, with half of that time it serving as my only running car.

It frightens me the similarities between the two of us sometimes:

I’m 6'3" and mostly leg, and I had issues with the four-dour Golf.  Had no issues with the two-door ones, though.  I also found the final-gen Beetle comfortable, even with an adult sitting behind me.

Note to self: sell my ‘66 Bug, sell my Jeep, buy this with the cash.

Oh, I so want this for the ‘73 VW Fastback I’m restoring.  Shut up and take my money, VW!

I’d love a 4-cylinder rear-engine Porsche that has something resembling a back seat, whether a 912 or a nu-356.

I had a ‘71 LTD Convertible I traded for the ‘66 Bug that’s in my avatar. I don’t generally regret it, because I love my Bug, and turning it into an autocross car was a great project, but every now and then I find myself missing the 400 cubic-inch engine, land yacht ride, and hood so long you expect to see a catapult

There’s only one reason I haven’t sold my ‘66 Bug and bought a 914 to replace it for autocrossing: internal space. I’m a 6'3" tall yeti, and already have issues with the Karmann Ghia (like the shifter being below my right knee), which kept me from getting one, and the 914 doesn’t look to be much better. Plus, in a

Once again, I have to wonder if Torch is channeling my brain or something (my family all worked for AMC when I was a kid, and the Eagle was the first thing I thought of).

Holy crap. What the frak is wrong with these asshat douchebros?

Having driven an R107 in SoCal for a while, Patrick’s on to something, but the year’s off a bit for California. The CARB-approved catalytic converters for the SLs are made of unobtanium and painfully expensive on later model R107s, so, if you can, I would take advantage of California smog laws and go with a 1972 to

OK, this actually makes me sad. The 2012 revamp of the Beetle was exceedingly nice, and a lot of fun. And while they may not be popular everywhere, they’re remarkably popular here in San Diego.

Please tell me they’re going to make that Bus available for sale.

Having gotten to see both sides of it back in the early ‘80s, thanks to family members both in the UAW and in management, I continue to hold UAW Local 72 responsible as one of the contributing factors to American Motors going belly-up.

1975 AMC. I get Jeep. If this wrests it from Fiat-Chrysler so much the better, but if not I can go the Mahindra route and make CJs as OHVs.
