LOL nah, it wasn’t planned. There was a flash storm that flooded much of the city, I was going under a highway and cars ahead of me, and behind me, stalled. I sat in the car and watched the water rise. managed to get the sun roof open and climbed out of the car. Got my stuff out of the trunk and walked away. Good

I don’t see why anyone else would have a different experience, they use shoddy parts which will wear our right around the end of the warranty. I did have a terrible experience with a leased 3 series, I got lucky and the car was totaled in a flood a year into ownership. The car was at the dealership at least twice a

Car is in Vancouver, Wa which is right on the border of Oregon. I’ll never buy another BMW, they use shitty parts to save a few cents and command a premium. It’s hard to understand why they would make cooling systems that disintegrate.

Her car came with three pedals, as God intended. We’re building a shop and a house on our property this year, so saving mode is firmly enabled.

I’m in semiconductors and awarded a tranche of RSU’s annually which I often use for arbitrary things, last year I bought my wife a Mazda MX-5 RF. I also earn plenty without it, but that goes towards investments and day-to-day expenses. I wouldn’t buy a car this year, it’s going to take quite some time for the RSU’s to

A lot of the tech/finance folks are at risk as a large part of their income is based on options and/or RSU’s.

I bought a MX-5 RF in January, no regrets. Life is too short not to own a convertible with three pedals.

Depends where you live, all of my kids failed the road test at least once. Quebec is very strict.

I saw on the local news they’re closer to 30%, but I don’t know if that’s necessarily accurate.

There is no Uber or Lyft services where I live, the town has a population of 2000. And, I live outside of town :) I cook our meals, occasionally I’ll pick up from a local restaurant to do my part in keeping them alive. Sadly, many restaurants have closed for good.

Agreed, however many do have 401k’s or IRA’s. There’s also plenty that don’t, but the company’s relative value has a direct impact on hiring and the like. So yeah, it kinda does matter to everyone.

Very true, my point was there are plenty of vehicles to pick from. The VAG group has a vast line up to pick from, unfortunately some of the brands aren’t available in North America. There’s not much from VW itself that interests me, however they do offer value for the most part. I hope they do well.

The Group comprises twelve brands from seven European countries: Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Audi, SEAT, ŠKODA, Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Porsche, Ducati, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, Scania and MAN.

Agreed, as mentioned I have to be more vigilant driving my truck. I never tailgate and really hate when others do so. I do keep in mind there’s additional space required when I’m driving the truck vs my car, its something I have to keep in mind as I toggle between driving my different vehicles.

You win, Congrats.

Congrats, you’re the smartest guy in the room.

yeah, but Kristen in an exception, she’s an excellent writer and quite funny too.

Move the office, or, hire remote workers. A bunch of millenials in New York city that are completely disconnected from the automotive world. NYC is not a haven for enthusiasts. Also, hire Steph and Kristen back with salaries they can actually live on.

the average consumer credit card debt in America is $6400. Let that sink in. It’s unbelievable

Slow car fast is the wife’s MX-5 RF :) Every so often I’ll damn near hit something with the Taco because I’m used to the braking on my Cayman, I do have to remind myself to be more aware and allow more space & time for the truck. My Taco is pretty basic but a nice enough interior, handling is okay but I do find the
