I can tell you from personal experience there are many antibiotics that will really mess with your stomach. Doctors usually prescribe another medication to counter the effects. I've never gotten sick to my stomach.. only stomach pains.

I believe you. As I mentioned before, the Doc said it's an old wives tale. The worst you can do is reduce the effectiveness of the antibiotic. If you have not taken a lot of antibiotics in your life, it shouldn't affect you at all.
