As someone who thinks Simmons is a pretty fair writer who does admirable homework, formula and homerism notwithstanding, I think his podcasts always stink. I have the same problem with Matthew Berry. They’re writers who wanna be Howard Stern when they grow up, but they’re just not very good at podcasting, or anything…
