Exactly! I rode a ‘67 XLCH, and the tolerances were such that even as a non-mechanic, I could do all the work on it (even head and piston replacement, where, again—a non-mechanic!—I can assure you that the thing would run fine ... well, almost ... w/ the pistons in backwards).  As we often  said back then, the best…
