If you flipped the genders no one would ever even notice.
I found myself rooting for Peter quite frequently during my binge-watch to get up to speed with the series. For all his faults, the narrative does go through a lot of effort to show that the guy is trying.
Nobody act shocked when she runs for States Attorney as an independent and crushes everyone.
Grace isn't a caricature so much as an extremely accurate portrayal of "someone who picked up and found religion randomly in her teens to connect with one random new friend and try to uniquely define herself from the rest of her family."
One could argue that they are a subversion of the trope. Remember how annoying we all thought Sansa was in season one?
For some reason my brain initially went to a " (George) Washington Carver" place, and thought Reddick could show up in a flashback to disclose how peanuts can be used to avert the apocalypse.
I kid you not…when it emerged from the archway and John Noble gave him that sword, I just muttered to myself, "please raise it and have it light on fire. That's really all I want, show." And then of course that happened.
It's possible it's just a dream. Everyone has that dream, Vladimir. ;)
Didn't the wood issue finally get solved in The Day of the Doctor, though?
What made it work for me is that it wasn't just an out-of-nowhere gag. He used the spoon because it's the thing he happened to have on him from before (in that delightfully weird licking business).
To be fair, though, that's how I felt about the "fish fingers and custard" scene in "The 11th Hour." That was the one scene of that terrific episode where you could see the beads of sweat, and I have no doubt it's just something that Doctor Who does to to help land the transition more quickly.
True, anything is better than stretching. But airing things in their original, intended ratios is always best.
Yeah…I figured we got past the "widescreen=better" correlation back at the beginning of the DVD era. The whole point of 16:9 TV becoming a thing was to help preserve original aspect ratios and kill "pan and scan".
Would it really kill them to put a border on the sides or, god forbid, just let it be black?
Wait, you mean they've cut off the top and bottom to make it look like pretend 16:9? They're not airing the original square?
To be fair, Moira was evil at the time I wrote that…😇
Followed by, "Do I look like I'm trying to be funny?", said with a pipe in her mouth.
Full Pacquiao or Full Patinkin?
But is it "Sims broken by The Following" level?
