To be (sad but) fair, Battle Mode has steadily worsened since Super Mario Kart.
But nowadays, gamers are smart enough to know that you buy a Nintendo console for the 1st party stuff, and frankly those titles drive me more than straight-up game quantity.
Oddly enough, that's what happened with my PS3. I bought MGS 4 and FFXIII, and use it for streaming TV. I've always played Nintendo consoles consistently more.

I actually really liked that. She clearly doesn't have romantic feelings for him, but loves him very much and that was just how the affection poured out based on their emotional connection. It felt incredibly honest, actually.
