24 year vet here. I completely agree. Why limit to one group or another? “hero” worship is out of control in this country. Some people choose to join the military, be cops, firemen, etc... Some people do not. That is all. It’s a job that people are paid to do.

When I was in the Navy, we would have huge boxes of eggs stored all over the boat when we deployed. No refrigeration for weeks and they were fine.
