I think the Cats movie was just a badly executed idea at a bad time. If they made it about 5-10 years, it probably would have been a hit. In 2019, going up against a live action movies Aladdin, Lion King, Rocket man and a couple of Avenger movies, the audience was just not in the mood to suspend belief one more time.

It sucks that they got arrested but they fell victims to something every young person in America as witnessed; old people using the internet.

I loved what they did! They gave the show a needed shot in the arm and quite frankly they also treated their segment for what it was “a show to celebrate itself” not some solemn and honored event.
