The Wii one obviously looks and runs better in that video. But it's hard to compare unless you're looking at the 3DS screen and turn the 3D on. Games look a lot better on the handheld's screen and with 3D enabled.

Well. I really don't care. I'd rather Nintendo games stay on a Nintendo platform. Why would they split their brand to other devices that will compete with sales of their hardware?

I just went back and played Shenmue (in Japanese) as well as half of Shenmue II (up to Kowloon)... These games are still a blast to play, the environment still feels more living and breathing than anything done today. Mostly because of the unique NPC paths but also the attention to detail.

Some aspects of it hold up…

If a few more years mean the game can be polished to the point to where my mind is blown then I will gladly take it. We've all waited long enough, a couple more years isn't much. I don't want them to rush this, this game is going to need to redefine the JRPG genre if we expect to see grand scale JRPG style games…
