Early Ford Pinto fuel filler being in the back. It’s one thing to cost money or be an irritant, entirely another to cost people their lives. I have read since that the issue may not have been all it was made out to be at the time, but it’s at least an example of how not to handle bad publicity.

Years ago there was an old wives tale that people having seizures would ‘swallow their tongue’ and choke. You were supposed to put a spoon in their mouth to keep the tongue down and the airway open. Admittedly I never heard that from an actual medical professional.

Nice job. Maybe the guy can get a job training F-35 pilots.

I am currently driving a 2006 Mazda3 and just about to roll through 100K. I would so take this thing at $5000. I realize the performance is overhyped, but I am not looking to kill Subaru’s. Given how good my 3 runs at this point I think it would make a great daily driver.

I learned to drive on my Mom’s 77 Granada 2 door. It was the ugliest shade of tan ever created, but it ran well. I also learned how to start carbureted cars in cold weather, which is a critical skill people today don’t learn.

I am a nurse and I work in a hospital IT department, creating reports and data extracts. I also spent 10 years as a Pediatric Critical Care nurse before moving to IT. Unfortunately, your slightly cute joke about falling in buckets and drowning misses a serious issue in pediatrics. Toddlers will walk up to a bucket

Wes:

Spices. I never really understood the difference between high and low quality spices until I won a drawing for a basket of food at a charity event and got some very high quality Spanish paprika. I always thought paprika was just there to give food a red color.

Great article and I loved the pictures. However, I thought most of the WWII and Korean vintage aircraft had been taken out of service by new FAA regs and concerns about fatigue?

My mom worked for a Ford dealership and had a Granada of that same model, with the single most anemic 302 V8 engine ever created. Never could talk her into hot rodding it, showing her incredible wisdom.

Is it just me or does that grille look a little like a ‘55 Chevy?

If it jumped, then you were NOT looking at a louse. Lice cannot jump or fly. They can only crawl.

I live in Irving, Texas, where the Cowboys used to play when they really were a great team. I have never heard a single person in Irving say that we should have worked harder to keep them, or that they are sad they left. The City of Dallas made a very halfhearted effort to get them, but really the only places that

Seems like the Hawkeye/Black Widow split is a little bit of a set up, forcing them to fight each other again like back when she was with the Russians.

I built a computer and bought a full copy of Win95, on (I think) 15 floppy disks. Not only did the install take a long time, you had to sit in front of the computer so you could switch out disks whenever it told you to.

I saw this at the EAA Museum last year. I think the term ‘sexy’ is way overused in terms of machines, but dammit that thing is sexy.

Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue, Toby Keith. I realize it’s a song about America, but the Korean flag is red, white, and blue also.

I don’t think it’s Tyler, I think there is an entire US inferiority complex where we trash our own work and assume that everything everyone else builds is a devastating piece of death. Even if I don’t agree, Tyler can at least support his thoughts with a cogent argument, far different from most of the media.

I had one with a manual. Base model and very difficult to find. The problem was that it didn’t do anything well. It wasn’t as small and nimble as the Ranger I replaced with it. It rode like a truck, and not in good way. The bed was too small for a sheet of plywood and the plastic it was made from was incredibly slick,

When I was an ICU nurse I worked on our Trauma Team. We were taught to look for (and I am NOT making this up) an ‘anal wink’ as an indicatory of potential spinal injury.
