Gotta give more props to Mazda, specifically the service guys at Freeman Mazda in Irving, Texas. I had an intermittent air bag light on my 2006 Mazda3. The car was out of warranty. The independent guy I normally use tested it and said it would be 1800 to replace a side curtain airbag. Took it to the dealership where I

The BBC has an article about this. Apparent the story is that there has been a spate of these kind of robberies in France. However, there are a lot of people who think this is crap. I am not an anesthesiologist, but I did spend 10 years as a critical care nurse and was involved in a lot of procedures involving

Several years back, just after I got my Master’s in Information Security, I applied for a position with the FBI as an intelligence analyst. This was not that long after the Sept 11 2001 attacks, and they were trying to increase the number of analysts looking at Intelligence. I had several years in health care, two

It’s called Cuban Chrome. It’s on the Discovery Channel. I watched it last night. Some guy with an early 50’s Oldsmobile has a diesel from a boat in it. He is trying to join a local car club but has 6 months to restore the Olds.

Along these lines, thinking I can remember how something will go together once I am done. I am always surprised how many times I get to the end of something and have multiple important looking fasteners left.

I saw this a couple of year’s back at the EAA’s museum in Oshkosh. It’s gorgeous. When I saw it I couldn’t really do anything else but stand there and mop drool off my chin with a camera lens cloth.

I have a daughter in the BSA Venturing program. Knowing the current rules around Youth Protection, I absolutely do not believe that statement, period. If this really is the case I’d like to know the unit number.

As a current Scout Leader (my 8th year as an adult leader with both a son and daughter involved in BSA programs), this is a great decision. Reading the comments below makes me think most of the people commenting (except Wes) are not currently involved in Scouting.

I originally learned in 1984 on a VW Rabbit Diesel, in a parking lot that only let me get to second gear. Which was kind of OK because the Rabbit Diesel didn’t actually get faster in higher gears. It just made more noise.

If you look carefully in that commercial you will see Torque Ratio Chick wearing heels and walking on grass. Because apparently

I agree. I have a very old and very beat up 22 year old copy that I got when I graduated from college. I still use it. The information still holds up.

We had an Army Depot in the town I grew up in Back in the mid 80’s AMC Hornets and Ford Fairlanes were the two cars that we would see surplussed most often. They were generally very clean, very well maintained, and very reliable. A friend of mine got a white AMC Hornet, with a three-on-the-tree standard and blue vinyl

I do the same thing with 20% vinegar in a squirt bottle. This isn’t the normal vinegar you buy at the grocery store. I get it from a garden supply store.

What do you want the bet the last thing the driver said was ‘Hey guys. watch this!!’

On behalf of the vast majority of Texans I want to thank our military men and women for their hard work. Hopefully you appreciate the irony that the risks you take allow paranoid idiots to rant incessantly about our government. Good luck with your training and please stay safe.

Wes, thanks for a great article. I was not in Scouting as a youth but both my kids are. My son just made Life Scout. My daughter is an officer in her Venturing Crew and conquered Philmont last year. The values they have learned in Scouting have made them better citizens and better people.

I guess I would pick the Gerber, but really the answer is none of the above. I usually carry a small three inch folder I made from a kit, but sometimes people look a little weird when I pull it out at work. For most situations, I have a small three bladed Case pocket knife that probably dates back to the ‘70’s. My son

Great work.

The Joshua Tree by U2 is the best house cleaning album ever made.

Protect your credit rating from day one and never put it at risk. It’s too easy to get yourself in trouble early and then have to spend years digging out.
