This is so amusing. People who’s knowledge comes from Wikipedia, National Geogrphic and the internet at large can make such righteous suggestions about selling and moving, making statements that there are “lots of rich people and real estate money”. Forget about the families who have lived here for generations: the

The Florida Panhandle isn’t really Florida. It’s really a part of Alabama.  Yes, our capitol is in Alabama!

Makes me proud to love in Florida!

I love your article and you hit all the key points. I’ve been camping at Race’s for over 10 years and have made more than a few mistakes.

I have a 3GT and I love it. It looks good and is practical. So, the question I am frequently asked is why the 3GT vs. the 4GC vs. the standard 3 Series. The 3 GT has 6” more leg room in the back seat then either the 4GC and standard 3. The hatchback is a big plus and I love the pop-up rear wing and panorama

Let’s go all out old school here and build a new twin-turbo boxer-12, no hybrid tech to weigh it down. Oh, and don’t get the balsa wood shifter knob!

Im sure the 19 current owners of the original cars are cringing again, as they do when Aston Martin builds sanctioned fakes....  Well, I’m sure one or two will buy one anyway...

I have a 3GT and love it! I love how it looks and stands out of the crowd of common 3’s and 4’s. I just spent the weekend camping with my son at Sebring and fit everything I needed for the weekend inside! Do that with an M4! Oh, Green Park is so much more fun than any hotel I would have had to “enjoy” with any other

I so wanted one when I was in high school, especially the “Handeling By Lotus” tuned version!  I thought is was the coolest looking cheap car on the road.

If only NASCAR could dry a track this way...

I’ve gone for the last 10 years in a row, 17 total and love it! Camping in the infield is an amazing time! I stay Friday through Sunday and have built friendships with people from all over the world.

I have to agree with you about IMSA choice to pin DPi to LMP2. I do believe it was done with the hope, wishful thinking may it be, that maybe the DPi’s would be allowed at LeMans and other WEC races. Jim France did wave the TriColor to start the race that year. We all would love to see that happen here in America.

Don’t forget how this all started, when the ACO and WEC refused to take IMSA’s ideas into consideration when devising the LMP1 and LMP2 rulesets. Now consider that the WEC’s top class (LMP1) now has 4 to 5 cars and only 1 true manufacturer (after losing both Porsche and Audi, who are spending their money in GT),

Preach on, girl!  The truth can be hard!

Elon Musk: aiming high for the Air Force!

Excellent book!  I highly recommend it!  “A Big Ask” about the new Ford GT race program is also a good read and an interesting bookend to the Ford GT story.  Lastly, “Make It Faster” by Dan Binks and Norm DeWitt needs to be on the list!  Binks history with Chevy and Ford and Tommy Kendall is suggested reading!

There are 2 great books on this by James Womak and Daniel Brown; The Machine That Changed the World and Lean Thinking. These are Manufacturing 101. In Lean Thinking they look closely at what Porsche did to stay in business! Fascinating. “Lean” can be broken down very simply: remove waste, which is EVERYTHING and

The Unfair Advantage is probably my favorite of the three best racing books I’ve ever read.  Go Like Hell and The Mechanics Tale are the others that are ABSOLUTELY worth reading!

All 3 of Steve’s books are great reads!  They are probably the best inside stories out there.

It’s looking like another year I’m not watching F1. Mercedes dominant, Ferrari bitching about performance and Red Bull happy with spoilers. Outside politics effects the next race because they don’t like how Grosjean handeled himself DURING his losing control of his car on the first lap. Lord knows, the front wing
