the leads may not be Little People, but blink and you miss it later...

Sounds like white dudes crushed it!

Who?

The Rock has carny running through his blood, the feud with Diesel could have been complete or partial kayfabe, we’ll never really know.

A substantially worse Taxi Driver -AND- King of Comedy. Given the viewing habits of most of the current younger audience, it probably doesn’t matter. They haven’t seen either of the originals. When my kids (both Gen Z age) saw Avatar for the first time, they didn’t respond negatively to the similarities to Ferngully,

I’ll just remind everyone, because a lot of people certainly seem like they’re actively trying to ignore it, that Todd Phillips was on the side of the executives during the strikes and said everyone deserved to go broke from it.

The first movie was just a worse Taxi Driver, but maybe getting weird and wacky will give this one more of an identity.

On Stranger Ties is a movie about pirate apparel, while the one you’re thinking of is On Stranger Tides (Disney bought the rights from Tim Powers and neglected to use the contents of the book, which may account for the forgettable nature of the film.)

Jesus christ these people are still hung up on Sarkeesian? Is it still 2015 for them or something?

What’s going to happen if you do something brave?”

The cover by The Cardigans and Tom Jones added much more to the song, IMO.  It’s very much of its time in 1999, but I think it holds up.

really, can you name a great Rock sketch?

“You Give Love a Bad Name” is fine, but come on, the right song is right there:

More teens get breast implants than trans top surgery by a significant margin, but I’m sure Dax and the rest of his ilk aren’t concerned about that fact.

the global conflict depicted in Edwards’ thrilling film, which pits artificially enhanced intelligent robots against humanity

I don’t get it. Absolutely everything described in about this movie in this review sounds unbelievably cliched, done to death, and derivative. The threat from Asia, the childlike AI, the traumatized US soldier, the visuals etc. etc. What am I missing? What’s so good about it?

Total lack of love here for Star Trek: Lower Decks, in which two of the four main characters are PoC, and the captain of the Cerritos is too.

The ending was pretty much the twist from Pierre Boulle’s original novel, but what worked in print didn’t when translated to a film and it’s easy to see why the creators of the original POTA ditched it for the classic twist at the end of that film.

It would appear that every accusation made by Republicans is something that they are doing themselves. It’s projection every time.
