I love This Old House but I wish they would pick more realistic homes and go into more depth on how to do things (which Ask TOS is for, I guess) because some of the houses they pick are way over the top. One they did a couple years ago was some modernist place with NINE staircases (most of them were short 4-5 stairs

Totally agree. They kind of made a token effort by mentioning a movie being made about the moon base death but certainly music would have some changes. How many people were inspired by John Lenon’s murder? It would have butterfly effects.

The show continues to be fascinating. The divergence in politics and popular culture is very interesting. The main characters are still interesting but I am disappointed they didn’t just pretend the whole Karen sleeps with the friend of his dead son thing never happened.

I had my first gray hair before I was old enough to drive.

I liked the sneaking around stuff. It was fun. Trying to interrogate a child? That just seemed dumb. As much as I am all for Indira Varma being on my television as much as possible, her character’s ability to beat up anyone at any time seems a bit much. And maybe I’ve listened to too many episodes of Darknet Diaries

My guess is that the scifi tech is Hawkman-related since (at least some versions. it is stupidly complicated) he is from another planet.

Honestly, I’m just counting the days until some lawsuit to remove the strict limits on fully automatic guns.

Sad but not surprising. The show had some real WTF moments and lots of interesting ideas but the actual writing was a mess.

“The DAVINCI mission will go where no mission before it has gone before.”

It is kind of a shame but not surprising. It is a very interesting world and premise but too many jumps in logic and bad plotting.

This season is all over the place. There are so many storylines going on and Barry’s ability to keep getting away is stretching credibility to the limit. There have been times in the previous season that were over the top (the feral child episode) but the whole chase was so over the top that it undercuts the reality

The show has used one of my most hated tropes: kids not listening causing all the problems.

Yep. The musical aspect is why I never even tried Central Park.

Unless we are giving out wishes to change the fabric of reality there is nothing that can be done. Flying sucks and unless you can afford a better seat there’s nothing that can be done about it. Anything else is like putting up curtains in a jail cell.

Barry has reminded me of Silicon Valley: the whole season they get deeper and deeper into trouble only to get a new lease on life at the end of the season.

Someone has had some PR coaching on how to say things without actually saying anything.

Am I the only one that enjoys Bob’s Burgers more or less in spite of the singing not because of it? A little goes a very long way with me. The only hesitation I have in going to go see this Friday is that I am worried I will have to endure a ton of songs.

Comics have a long history of incorporating the changes that film/tv/radio have made to the characters. So how long until the comic book version of Ms. Marvel’s powers get changed to match the show?

It seems like the real theme of the season is shitty parents. All the anthology episodes have had shitty parents and Earn and Van have left their child with Van’s parents. I wonder if that is going to be brought to the front or just a background theme.

I love D’Arcy but I’m always amazed that after all this time of covid and online interviews that people are still doing interviews with shitty sound. I understand not wanting to have a mic in camera but that isn’t an unsolvable problem.
