1) all people came as immigrants illegally during the initial invasion of north america. What gives those the right during one period in time but not another? If all they need are papers, then process them. They are still contributing members of society.(sorry in advance but kinja doesnt allow carriage returns on

Trump is a red herring. You and your Hillary supporters, along with the Democrat power structure, pushed aside a man who could have made real change for the better. The US didn’t opt for Trump, they went with anti-establishment. Republicans, of all people, broke free; Democrats did not. Prior to this election, the

I mean, the EC didn’t need to be designed with racism in mind cause at the time only white landowning dudes over 21 could vote.

except she did not win the majority of the popular vote, she won the plurality.

I’m still baffled by the ‘10 trans youths have killed themselves since the race was called for Trump’ claims. Like, did they not want to wait and see? I mean, did he promise to force them all conform to their biological sex? Did I miss the announcement of that policy? It’s such an absurd overreaction. For all we know

You should be angry at the people who scared those kids with those lies. put the blame where it belongs

You totally don’t get it. But there you go, reinforcing what he said about what he has to put up with from people that don’t even know him.

Yep, that happened to one of my friend’s kids in CA. Two little assholes told him to go back to Mexico, and he said back, “fuck you, I was born here.”

I mean, the EC didn’t need to be designed with racism in mind cause at the time only white landowning dudes over 21 could vote.

I would think the EC exacerbates perceived racism because many minority groups live in concentrated enclaves whereas white people tend to be more evenly spread out. If the EC was based strictly proportional to population, that wouldn’t happen. I still don’t think the EC was designed with racism in mind. That said,

I’m so glad to see this. I also teach in a rural, mostly white school and felt numb and unable to address the election with my elated students. My coworkers are also pretty conservative so I spent most of the day yesterday in my room texting my friends.

Sure, they are intuitive, but they don’t watch the news or adult television for that matter. No one is buying time for political ads on Nick or Disney. Her child is reacting to things her kid has heard her say or she has allowed him/her to watch.

I agree that it needs to be dealt with. But it needs to be done so tactfully. If you simply suspend/punish these kids they will grow up to have a resentment for all the politically correct “snowflakes”, and that will make their problem even worse.

I believe it is equally hateful to label everyone who didn’t vote for Hillary sexist, misogynistic, xenophobic, homophobic and/or “literally Hitler” but that hasn’t stopped the majority of Jezebel and other sites from doing so.

Undocumented immigrants get essentially the same constitutional rights as every person in the United States. The Constitution applies to all, no matter immigration status. The Constitution does not grant rights to citizens only. All people in the United States are entitled to Due Process of laws, to a trial by a jury

thank you for not subjecting your child to this freak show. amaze-balls how many parents think this is fine and normal for children to watch on tv and get involved in.

but yesterday as a teacher I did... nothing.

I did not need to explain anything to my child. He is 13 but understands civics. The rules are the rules and the person who wins is the one who wins by the rules that exist at the time.

“If Trump is elected, will I be a slave?”

The only way your kid knows he’s terrrible is you telling, projecting, or complaining to the kid. Unless you birthed a child prodigy, your kid only knows the details of the election through you.
