Didn’t watch the full video, but what wasn’t covered in the text was this: what is the difference between CV and u-joint? I think most readers of Jalopnik know, but for those that don’t or never pondered:

Anyone else wonder why Edd shuns the use of pnuematic tools? Too noisy for the camera?

I’ve always FF past Brewer straight to Edd and hit delete when the sale comes up- just the wrenching for me please. Don’t Velocity know the real reason for the show’s popularity? Obviously not...

It is a virtual certainty that they will pursue enforcement action resulting in the revocation of his certificate, though he could reapply after a year or so. That this was not a willful violation will not matter. His only hope is that the controller failed to alert him that he was lined up on the taxiway, though it

I suspect what they’ve done to that engine is a lot like what the pills did for Max Da Costa (from the film Elysium). Made him feel great for the remaining five days he had left to live...

That’s a real slap in the face to me, especially since I let that auto-replay for 3 minutes. My F80 M3 has so much going for it...except a beautiful voice. Such a disappointing sound in fact that the engineers decided to pipe soylent green into the occupants’ ears. :(

We know already- you’ve posted that pic everywhere. (I have one too, BTW)

That’s the only thing? Did you never drop shit out the back end of your Herc? I the many years of flying my mighty “right side up” P-3, I must have dropped 1000's of buoys, 10's of mine shapes, torpedos, and cluster munitions (now banned thankfully, but we never hurt anything except plankton). My years flying Boeing

Flown professionally for 30 years. Only plane I ever flew that could expel waist while airborn was a T-34C and no poopie, only pee-pee!

How many more slots available? Can I get in on this? Waiting list? Must be very popular!

FWIW, I’m just as arrogant in my STi as I am in my M3.

Small satisfaction considering that driving on the streets of Australia is like “tip-toeing through the tulips”. If you even think of enjoying a drive there, you’ll get fined and impounded. (exaggeration for emphasis!)

“I do not know why he chose to shut down on the active runway, but post-impact discussion seemed to center around his flagging a marshal, who put up a red flag (presumably indicating stop takeoffs).”

Been there quite a lot, have family there, wonderful country. However I don’t think there is any way I could live there as they are so hard up about traffic laws. Camera enforcement everywhere. (Caution: exaggeration) Simply pulling out of your parking space results in breaking some anti-hooning law. Makes me wonder

Right, PACOTS are fixed. Used mostly by traffic between Japan and west coast of North America. There are however many NOTAMS and chart notations that dictate preferred routing for traffic transiting the Anchorage and Arctic FIRs which in effect makes them tracks to a degree.

Actually doesn’t apply while in the tracks. Tracks are unidirectional so no need to separate into odd or even- lateral and along track spacing takes care of that.

They are bi-directional. Usually eastbound tracks get lettered from the bottom of the alphabet and westbound from the top. Track messages are put out daily and are usually built around avoiding or exploiting the jet stream.

I fly mostly to Asia from the midwest. Typically we select a polar route going either way- westbound to Asia and eastbound on return. However, I’ve had a couple of occasions where due to more favorable winds or unacceptably cold air temps, we selected an eastbound route to Asia allowing me to claim I flew around the
