So I actually bought it a few weeks ago, but I’ve been unbelievably busy at home doing spring renovations and some other housekeeping. I bought it because I’m trying to retire the S600 from daily driver duties and I wanted something with less miles than the LS400. It’s a 2005 Grey over black Custom Luxury spec LS430…
I hit an alligator. I’m not sure if it’s totaled or not, but it’s fucked up regardless. I’m not sure if this car has an oil cooler radiator up front but I’m praying that I killed that and not the oil pan, but I’m not crossing my fingers.
It doesn’t have the interior of my S600, but it looks practically brand new! I don’t think spending upwards of $60,000 on a car is a great idea for me right now, but I’ll be damned if I don’t want a W221.
Usually when I make a cry for help post like this, there’s been some sort of catastrophic failure somewhere deep within within the bowels of my S class and it’s hemorrhaging oil like the Exxon Valdez. While that is currently the case, the car is still in storage for another few weeks so I don’t really care if it’s…
So I have a pair of Bose 901s with the EQ that I want to get working. I have an Insignia NS-R2000 receiver with a shitty Panasonic CD changer. I think I need an Amp, but beyond that I don’t know where to start.
When you talk about mid April weather in the Midwest, what comes to mind? Sunshine after a long winter, grass seeing daylight for the first time, birds singing in the trees?
Mine was less than stellar. I was on my way home from a work function about an hour from my house in the LS400 when I hit a wrench or some other piece of debris and did this.
I don’t even know where to begin with this guy. It’s a 2002 S600 with over 200,000 miles, meaning that its M137 V12 is well on its way to becoming a handy boat anchor, and he wants $10,000 for it. His hubris is frankly staggering.
Or rather, how you’d spec a car that costs all the money. Simply, i want to see what you fine folks would buy if you were in the market for something big and opulent, be it a Mulsanne, a Phantom V, or a Duesenberg. Currently, the new Rolls Royce Phantom VIII has caught my eye. Perhaps I’m watching too much Boardwalk…
If so, tell them to buy mine !
As much as I’m going to miss the S600, car shopping is one of my favorite things ever.
I think now is the time to sell the S600. With all the money I’ve put into it in the last month, it think I could reasonably get at least $18,000 for it on BaT, and get into a newer S600 or like a 2015 LS460. I’m just tired of the ridiculous repairs, and even my Dealer service adviser told me to get rid of this thing.…
So I finally finished the floors in my upstairs bathroom, now I just need to install the toilet and sink and it’ll finally be done. Bonus cat for your consideration.
Also, one of these in in my immediate future I think...
I want a classic Benz, and a guy near me is selling a mostly intact 450 SEL. It apparently runs and drives but needs some “fine tuning with idling” and has apparently recently had a few services done recently. For $1900 it seems like a pretty safe bet.
I can hardly believe it. My dog passed away about 20 minutes ago due to complications from an emergency surgery earlier today. What a fucking awful day. First the Vegas shooting, then Tom Petty, now this. I need a drink and a hug.
So the noise is coming from the pump. I wonder how much that will co-
For some reason I can’t see any discussions. Halp
