I've had many surgeries and the hydros get to you after about 10 days of taking them, I have always weened but even then feel like I have the flu for a couple and horrible muscle spasms. Point is it doesn't take much or a long time for the pills to control your life.

Anybody can become addicted to painkillers if they are prescribed them with a couple refills. They don't warn you about the withdrawals. There is nothing worse than opiate withdrawal. You don't keep taking pills to get high, you keep taking them to keep from going insane and being violently ill.

Great piece. I'm still not clear why he went to prison. Because he got hooked on pills that aren't legal to take when you're not in pain? What an insane system.
