BET began as a two hour segment on Nickelodeon. I don’t know how successful the channel is, but it has survived 35 years. Undefeated should be given a chance. ESPN should serve as the incubator and let it spin off into a separate entity once it’s able to stand on its own.
Wow, that site went from disaster to amazing real fast.
I’ve found that you always get more out of books you were forced to read if you re-read them later on.
Yeah I mean obviously Cheers has stayed the same and I’ve changed. It’s useful to go back and look at things I used to be totally okay with and think, “Wow, dude, just, wow.” You’re probably right, that given the time and place Cheers was a net positive. Even the episode that gets a lot of credit for being on the side…
Eh, I should be shocked by how creepy Cosby is but somehow I’m not. His treatment of Lisa Bonet always seemed....cold and peculiar. His “dad” act on The Cosby Show always seemed over the top, too jokey and too goofy to be real, even for a family sitcom. It grated on my nerves. “Uncle Phil” from Fresh Prince seemed…

Because there’s high wind golf is stupid? And yet you get brought out of the grey for this bit of commentary that we couldn’t live without? That’s stupid.
I know, right? It’s the only sport that is negatively affected by severe, adverse weather.
I agree. The other thing I admire about Simmons was his passion. I often rolled my eyes about the things he was passionate about (he and I have vastly different taste when it comes to moves, music and television) but I respected the fact that there were things he really cared deeply about.
Do you guys feel at all bad/hypocritical for putting Grantland on blast for outing Dr. V, to only do the same thing a year or so later?
“THIS IS A SINKING SHIP.”
Remember Kim flipping off Sox fans en route to not being part of the 2004 World Series?
And how the Red Sox would rue the day they traded him?

yep. when I was in Istanbul, the bus driver asked where I was from and when I told him, he excitedly exclaimed, “Chicago Bulls! Chicago Bulls! Amir Asik is my guy!” which was a funny moment, but not enough to fund a stadium over.
how can she just cut her losses and move on?
