Fwiw, we don’t need car services at all. Get off your lazy f****** ass and walk, bike, or take transit. It’s not about solving the EV vs ice problem. We don’t need either one in any major American city. It’s about solving American culture problems. For that - I’m not sure we can solve it.

It’s far better than you'd think. My last rental one I had averaged 22mpg over 600 miles. I was honestly impressed. Would I buy one? Not likely. But they're better than they sometimes get credit for.

JLR Has the lowest rate of repeat buyers of any brand. It's not an accident. Even though most rent them (lease), they still rarely do it twice in a row.

I guess the unimog isn't on the list. So it wins?

Most of the list is a joke. Tacoma, Wrangler and g wagon are all very capable of road. HMMWV is okay - it’s not a rock crawler, but it’s pretty good at it’s original design goal: hauling people and stuff at 20-30mph over moderately rough terrain.

Oh - and there's a highlift jack on the roof rack. But there's no where on the vehicle that you could use it. And it doesn't have a base. So I'm not really sure what it's going to be useful for.

    Just the obvious:

This truck is likely quieter than an s500 lwb, smoother on the highway, and gets about the same mpg. Plus it’s cheaper. And lasts about 4 times as long. Not really sure what there is to complain about other than it’s not a sedan. But sedans are just a bummer to actually own.

This is the new extremist reasoning. The comments will often express the view that’s it’s okay to kill the other tribe simply for their beliefs. Even without the inconvenience. It’s a viewpoint generally blessed by the Kinja site standards so long as the people they want to kill are white. Welcome to Kinja 2022.

Right. The Rolling Stone literally published a story on why it’s okay to damage property and obstruct transportation as a form of political protest. Both sides do the same things and blame the others. Forums like this where Internet tough guys rattle their pretend sabers don’t help.

I wasn’t there. But it sure didn’t look like it from the videos of who was breaking windows and starting fires. Some of the fire starters posted videos of themselves doing it and why they thought it was justified. Of Mohamed Abdi in Minneapolis for example is a white supremacist - the white supremacists must be doing

Sure. If I act like an animal I’m okay with someone saying so. Doesn't seem terribly controversial.

There’s no reason for law enforcement to damage vehicles unless they're a threat to be used as weapons. Or I suppose if the protesters are going to burn the car maybe it's safer with flat tires.

    Sharp as a tac.

Good lawd. I have that same vehicle. And it’s nearing time for plugs. FML. Looks about as much fun as working on the hpop on my f250. :(.

Supposedly Toyota took the engineering teams for the new land cruiser out in Australia past cell range by 50km and said - “now your system is broken, what are you going to do?”. And the purpose was to show then where the vehicles would actually be used and why it was job #1 above all else to make the components

I started a detailed post about trying to work on cab-off engineered trucks (basically all of them now) without pulling the cab. But the software and ads crash chrome browser every few minutes.

Parking a truck in the street is literally nonviolent. The histrionics are a bit much. Surely you can come up with a better argument. Causing deaths - lol. 25 actual people were actually killed during the BLM riots, many more were injured, dozens of businesses were looted and burned.

So you couldn’t connect the dots between “Guess it’s only “effective” if your protest is majority white” and race? Did you think he meant majority white being the color of the tucks?

Reading is a good place to start. You should try it sometime.
