Sure, but Teslas also have the highest insurance rates in the USA. Costing more in the incremental insurance costs than the fuel savings in many cases.

Luxury in cars is the emperor’s clothes.

If a car is the most common commuter car in town - didn't that kind of eliminate the unique categories?

Laminated window glass is fmvss 226 requirement. Basically every car after fall of 2018 has them. I’m not sure that’s a luxury item anymore. Unless every car is now a luxury car.

I am American. But I’ve spent a fair amount of time in Asia and Africa. No one else has such a limited trim Land Cruiser as we had. The most common LC 200 was a GX model with a 1GR. The common gas V8 is the 4.6l. It’sonly Americans who think of the land cruiser as only being a luxury trim with AWD and a 5.7l V8. We’re

Yep. I do that sometimes. We usually buy a pack and play crib for our little one. The cribs are like $60, huge pita to try to bring with, but the places to rent them want $20-30/day. Then I leave it at the airbnb with a note for the cleaners to take it home of they want it or leave for the next guest.

Bikes direct. They have a range of price and quality. All are great value for the price. I have bought 4 bikes from them. I’ve ridden one over 10,000 miles (it’s an expense titanium road bike and has needed a wear parts replaced, but it’s a very good quality bike for a lot less than half what I paid for my other

A Walmart bike frame costs $8 each from the factory. What do people expect from a complete bike that's $50 or $100. They're one time use items.

All the other full size SUVs have converted to minivans without a sliding door. Most don’t even come with a low range anymore. And that’s fine. The Sequoia offers a major differentiation for those of us who want more capability. And I think there’s a decent size market for people who want to tow, haul, and go off road

The Land Cruiser seems a lot bigger. Until you get inside. They’re not very big inside compared to what you expect. I’m not sure why they have a presence that seems so much bigger. Styling is a big part of it. The front seats are bigger and nicer for sure. But overall inside they’re really similar size.

We know it’ll share a platform and probably share wheel base. So the differences will be the body and some drive train. I’m not sure how different it could be.

Land Cruiser 300 starts at $46k USD MSRP in other markets. Including Japan (that's the Japanese base price). I’m sure Toyota Gibraltar is more like high $30s for the poverty pack version, but they don’t publish pricing. The Land Cruiser being a $80k+ SUV is an American only thing. I’m not sure anyone would be upset

It might get better mpg than an A6 wagon. It’ll probably be better city less highway. My guess is around 24/24. The rear area is probably compromised by the hybrid battery location and the use of the solid axle and full size spare.

It’s possible. But they’ve had 15 years to figure it out. Since the last model was introduced. And the engine/trans/hybrid is already a production powertrain in the LS 500. Seems really late in the game to not have this stuff sorted out.

    4R

I don’t mind tools required to remove the 3rd row. Hopefully it’s not like the Sequoia with airbags on the seats so they’re also electronics and idiot lights when you remove!

    It better be!

I we planning on buying a tundra replace my 4Runner. Now I’m seriously considering the Sequoia. But I need to see pricing and mpg figures still.

Land Cruiser is basically a HD 4Runner. They’re the nearly the same size. But the LC has a bigger engine and drive train and is 1500lbs heavier. And $80k.

The GX has a higher flat floor than the 2 row model by about 10". You just don't see it that well because it's not flat. It slopes up a lot between the back and the front seats. Makes everything slide back and fall out when you open the door. This is a clunky solution. But probably more functional for sleeping.
