I’m sure they considered it. Then had a good laugh and went back to figuring out the smallest possible engine that they could justify putting in and how to go back to a 4 speed auto.

Tiny dude. LX is basically the same size as a 4runner. So he's about the size of a typical 10yr old.

    Does Cadillac make anything else?

I think it’s a bubble. In fact I REALLY hope it’s a bubble. Consider the alternative. If it’s not - the middle class are no longer a home owning class in America. And that really means there’s no middle class anyone. It’s a defacto return to feudalism where a few people own all the property.

Sadly, there are more people who can afford this (than could afford it 10yrs so) but for every extra buyer, there’s 10 fewer who can afford the $40k SUV.

I quite like the grill. It’s not really as grill anymore. Just a front clip styling at this point. And it’s on point with the Lexus design language.

We need more of this! How about on the front lights for the torch gate?

The off road part or EV part?

Yes. This event is driving around on gravel roads that people drive in normal cars. But it is for rich housewives, complete with chefs who prepare meals and professional mechanics to fix anything that goes wrong. The cost to participate is literally more expensive than flying to Africa and going actual overland across

I'd love to see your math on that claim that hauling a big diesel gen to the desert and running it to charge an EV uses less diesel or has less emissions than driving a regular comparable CUV would have.

It’s as renewable as the event is authentic off road. Not very.

I think it must be only for the photo shoot. In my comment above - to squat a 4Runner 2.5 inches, it takes around 900lbs. The hitch isn’t rated for anywhere close to that. And the tongue weight should only be about 300lbs. But also - look at the plug wire. It’s already dragging on the ground. And the chains are almost

The thing is - 4Runners have soft springs, but they’re not that soft. OEM rear springs are 180lb/in (x2) and they have internal rubber overload springs that engage around 3 inches of compression. The rubber springs I don’t know the spring rate. To get the rear end level fender to tire with the front is around 2 - 2.5"

Yeah super weird setup. I have a 4Runner and the hardest problem I have with my hitch height is that it’s too high on the 4Runner even on the lowest setting of my weight distribution hitch. And mine is for a full size travel trailer. So something is weird about that picture for sure. My 4Runner hitch height is about 2

As long as it’s split the proper way

The conversion should be really easy. Everything on it is already approved. Just put in the mid grade interior. I don't think they'd have to do any new EPA testing or crash testing.

Biggest difference is that the turbo 6 has a lot more power at lower RPM. It’s about double the power of your 6.2 at 2k RPMs. So driving experience may be a bit different. More like driving a diesel. The power curve looks very diesel like. Maybe not as fun as the V8 to drive. Even if it is faster.

Never... Lol. Next gen 4Runner should show up around March 2024 and be a turbo 4 and turbo 4 hybrid based on the T24A. No PHEV appears to be in the works unless something changes between now and then.

You don’t need to justify your boring cars to me. If boring is what you like, go for it!

Don’t you drive a Volvo? And you're calling Toyota boring. Lol.
