Combine that with the fact that it’s easier than ever to be a tech worker anywhere in America as long as you can get broadband.

Those rules are great... if you’re a robot that can be programmed to always follow rules.
I know nothing of the sort. Bing more or less does what Google does. It’s better for simple stuff that I don’t need, it’s far worse and specific stuff that I’m often looking for like obscure historical references. Then it gets worse when I search an address or a local business, which shoves me to whatever mapping…
Local keyboard search still works. But turn on voice search, and it searches Bing, THEN searches my local files. And neither one searches my Chrome bookmarks, only Edge bookmarks — and Edge doesn’t have an ad blocker and doesn’t share bookmarks with my tablet or my smartphone. So I don’t have any use for Microsoft…
I concluded that Cortana was entirely useless to me when I found out that I couldn’t do anything with it, not even search my own locally stored files, without Bing. Screw that. I’m not interesting in beta-testing a third-tier search engine.
I already explained the joke. Aubrey's first song, in the movie, the one that introduces her, is that she wants to get married and move out to the suburbs so she can live "some where that's green." When Aubrey II attacks her and she figures out that Seymour's been feeding it people, she sings to Seymour that it's more…
I apologize for having to say this, but you just don't get it. You said, "If we fucked up and our game is broken, you should tell us." No. If you fucked up and your game is broken, you should tell us.
St. Louis, MO here. We had a horrific death toll one year a few decades ago (I forget which year) after which scandal the city and the county got effing serious about it.
Surely the flame-out of Trion's Defiance ought to count, given that both SyFy and Trion spent a fortune promoting it ... and, apparently, a pittance developing it, since it shipped with only about maybe 40 hours of content, and the "episodic content" we were promised has only managed to ship another couple of hours'…
Indeed! Did you hear the good news? The Party has raised the cover price of the e-book from $9.99 to $3.99!

No, I hate America because winning college football is seen, in most states, as more important than providing competent government services. Or health care. Or anything else. There's "enjoying sports" and then there's "having no perspective whatsoever," and this is on the wrong side of that line.
The next time somebody asks me, "Why do you hate America?", I'll remember to add this to the list.
Thank you for your honesty.
"Who Censored Roger Rabbit?" is on my short list of good books that were made into better movies. The 'toon physics of Censored work entirely differently from the movie version, and the movie version actually makes more sense. Don't get me wrong, it's a good book! But the movie is better, in the same way that L.A.…
Because the most sacred spiritual principle of every culture and major religion is, "It's different when we do it, because we're the good guys."
BZ is a real chemical-warfare agent, so it is entirely plausible that the military has a reference page for it in their standard chemical warfare manual(s). And COB strikes me as a little young to have been exposed to it, but the MK-ULTRA project did, in fact, in the real world test BZ on soldiers in Vietnam. Fun…
Jocks? From white-flight "religious" academies? Turn out to be racists? Get out of town! I had no idea! How did that happen?
I'm a little less worried than I was, ever since I found out that this movie is only meant to cover the first third of the book, maybe no farther than the Battle of Yonkers, that it's part one of a trilogy.
Still waiting for your review of this week's episode, but checked in here to add: my first reflex was that they couldn't be talking about John Bolton, but the more I think about it, the more likely it sounds. I had forgotten that John Bolton considered a run for the White House this year; Last Resort seems to have…
Hell, for all we know, he got it from Serrat.
