And yet Philip K. Dick’s mental illness didn’t make him a racist who worked out his fears about miscegenation by writing stories about aliens impregnating human women, it made him a perpetual seeker who wrote stories about trying to see past the limits of perception to see the wondrous in everything.

it may be that he had some form of paranoid schizophrenia or mental illness, I mean how else could he have come up with such crazy stuff?

This is a good comment and a smart rebuttal to some of the points I raised. Just wanted to bump it up toward the top.

The plotting itself in Act 2 was pointless. What Rian Johnson was trying to do (I’m not sure I totally agree with his decisions) was take the usual harebrained Star Wars convoluted Hail Mary hero plan and make it fail. And fail spectacularly.

Thank you so much! In turn, I very much appreciate and support the people who do weird shit on the internet.

Cecilia, I just want to say how much I appreciate your role as Kotaku’s resident Weird Shit People Do on the Internet reporter.

Sticking with Dead Orbit because I’m on PC and it’s the first run-around for us there, and I want the shaders.
I also think the NM leader is a bag of pricks, and the FWC leader is a jackass. Sticking to my principals.
Only thing that can entice me to change is a good Hand Cannon or Sniper Rifle.

I pledge to Dead Orbit just because they’re the ones whose philosophy I most agree with. New Monarchy wants an aristocratic government, which nuts to that, while FWC are escalationists who value military action over humanity’s other interests. Dead Orbit wants us to expand beyond the solar system to accomplish as much

Though you forgot to mention the one time where the strip comes full circle and a real person, Calvin’s one nemesis no less, actually plays calvinball with him towards the end of the strip’s run

See, I kept thinking that Bob was going to turn out to be an agent for Hawkins Lab that was keeping tabs on Will. I thought that right up until he went in to the build to reset the power.

Depends on the show, I think... You can have characters evolve if you write the shows correctly.

I can’t believe Kotaku is covering video games now. In my day this site focused on the turnip farming industry and that’s the way we liked it!

Chefs? Hell, for safety’s sake, we need to make sure they are fully trained and licensed veterinarians...

Hey, Marathon and Escape Velocity were awesome!
