They don't charge sales tax in states where they don't have a presence, which includes IL. I have never been charged sales tax by Amazon or NewEgg except when I buy something for my dad, who lives in NY.

To echo what a few have said, a number of states charge "Use Tax" on their state income tax forms (Illinois added a field for it this year, I know Wisconsin and Michigan have it too). Regardless, Illinois citizens were supposed to have been paying Use Tax for a long time, but you had to fill out a separate form from

Avoiding hospitals as an in-patient is actually a good idea unless you're sick enough to warrant being in one. But avoiding hospitals is not the same as avoiding your doctor's office. You should definitely get appropriate preventive care. However, many people have this idea that they're safer in the hospital

@charley.mills: As I replied to anohter commenter above: I'm looking at the Hulu Plus content and a lot of it says "Available in HD on TV, mobile and web". I'm curious what shows you were looking at because every show I've seen so far has said that. Is the statement a lie or am I just not checking the right shows?

I've checked every popular show I can think of.

Color me underwhelmed. I wrote a blog post, partially because of your original post last week. Although they have addressed some of my concerns about spam, I still see this falling on its face for a few reasons. [wp.me]

@Howard Blair: Where do you see brown? You mean orange?

@Dante Douglas: You can still right-click the Panel(s), i.e. the top and/or bottom bars, and customize them in any way you want. As far as right-click goes, the Indicator Applets (or Application Indicators), which now include the Bluetooth applet, Volume applet, Messaging applet, and Me Menu, do not have right-click

@Andre Kibbe: That may be the case for you, but I know plenty of students who barely take their laptop off of their desk must less out of their apartment or somewhere where they'd be away from a plug.

@jblackhall: I missed the first time that he spoke of command line instructions, so now it makes sense why everyone was doing that.

@MrYdobon: Since he says he's a "noobie", quit giving him comand line instructions.

@Duc: I was under the impression Rhythmbox could do this, even in 10.04 (and maybe earlier). Does it not work? I don't have a Windows machine around, but I'll check it out this weekend...

@das7002: That site says "Google Call [he's speaking about the thing that was announced today] offers several advantages: ...Open so they can make third party clients for it"

Anyone know of a way to make this work with XMPP and thus external apps like Pidgin and Empathy? This site says it'll work, but I'm not sure how: [xmppjingle.blogspot.com]

Linux support? Didn't think so...

@digitalranger: I think the mobile hotspot data is separate. You only get 2GB using the mobile hotspot for $20 and then it's an additional $20 for an additional 2GB of mobile hotspot bandwidth.

@freakshowtime: I'm not exactly sure of the cause of your issues, but my guess it's either because 1. performance is decreased using a Wubi-install or 2. Flash doesn't support linux very well. Or perhaps it's some combination of those or maybe something compeltely different.

@radthibodaux: You should be able to boot Ubuntu from a flash drive. Not sure if Macs will let you boot from them though.

@minibeardeath: That's really weird. There's no way it should be taking that long. Have you tried asking for help on the forums? You might also try installing bootchart. [www.webupd8.org] Sorry I can't be of much more help. I'm sure someone on the forums can though
