Thanks for the explanation. It still leaves me wondering whether "gendering" is a neutral term or is deemed something to be avoided (which was the impression I got upon encountering the term). Is it considered wrong to use in fiction the reasonable possibility that some women might be more intuitive in certain areas

"Gendering"?? Pardon my ignorance, not being a graduate of some Women's Studies program or other, but is that a thing? … and a bad one at that? Am I intuiting correctly that "we" now believe writers should stay away from ever assigning behaviors and storylines based on their characters' gender? I for one don't look
