There will be very few workers to screw over. New plants will be as heavily automated as possible. My guess is that automakers will make automation decisions based on wages 2x to 3x the rate at the time the plant is being built.

That is cheap enough to drive it until it drops and sell it for salvage value when inevitable $$BIG FIX is needed.
The dangers of PMS are everywhere.
Yikes! Vonnegut did not know the cold (real cold) start procedure. You rock the little SAAB side to side vogorously. The fuel tank is behind the rear seat and is side-to-side so you can really get the fuel sloshing around if the tank is 3/4 full or less.
Fuel cost is just money, part of the cost of ownership. I do not remeber trucks loosing market value in the last gasoline price increase but luxury sedans did.
2+2 seating makes a car a 2-door sedan, not a sports car and that can reduce insurance premiums. Keyless ia awful. Ford is best: keypad entry and you can leave a spare key hidden inside or under the hood or in a combination locked car safe. Traction control is GREAT; it kept me from lighting up the $600, 200 MPH…
Make that Juarez, not El Paso !!
In the late 1960s there never were any “Mexican Donkey Shows” in the boys’ towns of El Paso, Acuna, Peidras Negras, Nuevo Laredo, or Matamoros. “Performance bestiality” is an urban myth as far as I know. The shows were stage performances of today’s internet porn: hetero, homo, group with obvioiulsy adult performers,…
Isn’t 276 HP in the metric system the same as 300 HP in the English system?
Is it AWD?
It would be a Yes if it was LND.
Nothing for forest service roads? WRX with rally bits? Taco SRO? BMW R12 GS?
I disagree about the M53. I drove them a lot in the Army (1970-76). They had a looooooooow gear on could use that meant one very seldom actally needed to depress the clutch to stop. The bitch was the little M151 “Jeep”. Like a CJ3, it was made for 5 foot tall guys and I am 6’-2”...bash your knees every time you use…
I guess if you are into Tina memorabilia. But, for about $25,000-$30,000 you can get a 10-15 year old, 100-150K G-Wagon, the 4-door luxury legit US M-B import
Turbo Yobs
I thought it was going to be Gear Yobs or Top Yobs...Turbo Yobs?
There was a better and as interesting design: the machine gun was in the valley of the v-block and the propeller hub was offset upward by gears. I forget whose it was.
The 2-foot wide rear tires and 6 inch wide front tires used on Porsches to try to keep them on the road going forward rather than backward. In mechanical engineering we call this sort of thing a “work around”, as in to work around a crappy design.
No way. For $2300 I can get a 2015 TDI Jetta with only 10,000 miles.
Not to put to fine a point on it....but, the F 150 Plantinum Eco Boost has every conceivable luxury and tech gizmo except air suspension. Plus, being a pick-up it is mucho macho and can carry lots of stinking, smelly stuff in the back: fish bait, compost, spare fuel in cans, dead deer. The bed also doubles as a patio…
