What Retina said. Somehow you need to flash the CFE again with a different version. Confusingly, it has the same version number(1.0.2.0), but the contents are slightly different.

Before you flash it with any third party firmware you need to flash the T-Mobile CFE (bootloader) with stock ASUS’s. Then you flash it with the stock ASUS firmware. From there, then you can flash it with Merlin (or Tomato, DD-WRT, etc).

Worth noting: portrait mode is trained to work only when your camera detects a human face, so you’ll need one of those to give the feature a test drive (don’t be alarmed if it doesn’t work when you point your camera at the floor).
