Actually for the "nine balls" question, I think you can figure it out in just one attempt by randomly choosing 8 balls and balancing 4 of them on each side of a fulcrum... If one side is heavier than the other, you have your answer. If they balance perfectly equal, you still have your answer. No?

What's interesting about the file sharing landscape is that throughout the past few years, the paradigm has quickly been moving from Bittorrent and similar P2P-based technology to the original, tried-and-true "DDL" (direct downloading), which is simply downloading from cyberlockers or other direct Web sources.

Hmmm, I'm not sure then. I was able to upload at a max of 350 Kb/s when I tested it out, which is decent for the wifi connection I'm using (the most I've ever been able to push upstream was around 700 Kb/s).

Ah, I see what you mean. Hmm... Still might be valuable for backing up non-sensitive data, especially space hogs like media. I dunno; half a terabyte seems too good to pass up, even if you won't use it to back up personal data.

Check the settings; for some reason the upload and download caps for the default "bandwidth" profiles are set really low. You can change this manually, and enter your desired upload/download max speed, as well as the number of connections to use (4 seems to be a good default for most).

If you're talking about file transfers, there's an option in the settings to encrypt all file transfers between LiveDrive (the cloud) and your PC...

So far it seems pretty unfettered; even with the free version, I'm not seeing any limitations on file size, upload/download bandwidth, etc... Just the 512 GB total cap.

Does anyone know of a Firefox extension that does this, or a cross-browser webapp? Recently I've been leaving a RIDICULOUS number of tabs open in Firefox between sessions (around 100, most of them "unloaded" via Firefox's new Bartab-like function), and I've tried out several "tabs to URLs" extensions, but I've never

It's about time they added a "sequential" or "consecutive" data block downloading feature (on an individual torrent basis, that is)... I always wondered why uTorrent didn't include this option for people who wanted to watch certain video files on-demand, as they're downloading, but keep the optimized-piece downloading

This CustoPack that everyone keeps referencing seems promising, but there are only a handful of themes in its own gallery, and some of them (like Elune) aren't updated to the most recent version. So here's my question:

Does anyone know what would cause an upgraded installation to NOT default to the new UI, including the new Firefox button? [...]

Seriously, am I the only one who washes my toothbrush with antibacterial soap and water every day? After I read an article 10 years ago about brushes being prone to pick up "fecal coliforms" and other bacteria in the bathroom, I started washing my toothbrush every morning; a deep scrub on the bristles and handle with

You can check to see if your account was included in the distributed torrent file here, on a Google speadsheet that someone set up:

@pale_blue_eyes: I know everyone has their "favorite" tool for plain-text copying, but I thought I'd mention mine as well. It's a really tiny Firefox addon called "Extended Copy Menu," and it allows highlighted text to be copied as plain text either via an additional context menu entry, or via hotkey.
