We don't really have a budget. We monitor our finances regularly (using Mint) and just live as far below our means we can while still being comfortable and occasionally splurging on reasonable things. My wife and I both grew up in families where we were frugal, so we don't have an issue with it.
Why the emphasis on using a domain that is (or references) your legal name? Why not pick a phrase or term that is somehow descriptive or emblematic of you or your work? I am young and work in user experience, so perhaps that makes a difference, but it's something to consider.
As my daughters learned the hard way, don't eat fried chicken and then play with your Barbie dolls. Dog's love the flavor of the fried chicken and apparently love the chewiness of Barbie's head and shoes. So the same goes with your gadgetry.
