IMHO, marking something as "Done" should be aanalogous to Archiving. But Deleting should be made more accessible because I receive too many emails that are one-off that I simply want to delete after I've looked at it. I don't want to mark everything as "Done".

You are 100% correct. I've had my Gmail account since 2004, and I've Archived almost 30,000 messages, and ALL have Labels. Early on, I bought into the "save everything" routine, but I also learned that for me, Labels are essential, so I Label every message before I Archive it. That said, I regularly receive many,

Snooze: Boomerang users will be familiar with the idea of snoozing an email for later. You may need an email but not necessarily right now. Inbox allows you to snooze it so it disappears from your inbox and comes back at a later time. You can specifiy a specific time, use vague presets like "tomorrow afternoon" or let

It appears that if you received your invite directly from Google, then you should have the "golden ticket" icon to share three invites. But if you received a "second degree" invite (i.e. someone received an invite from Google, and then they sent YOU an invite) that the "golden ticket" is not available. I could be

I think you are correct, it may have been the Alto Clef—I honestly don't remember. Both clef symbols are the same, just the placement on the staff differs. In any case, what was confusing was that the notes didn't match up to their placement on the Treble Clef that I had become used to.

Ok, here's what you do: start by taking piano lessons as a young child and struggle with reading sheet music because you can play by ear, and the notes just confuse you. Start to get the hang of it then drop piano lessons and take up the viola which uses the f***ing TREBEL CLEFF and really get confused and frustrated.

I guess I/m just old school. I certainly understand your input, and I do mostly agree. It's just that I bought UE probably 14 years ago, and at that time (and easily for the 8 or so years) it provided the tools I needed that I simply couldn't find anywhere else. Notepad++ and other Open Source solutions are definitely

Obligatory "Is there a similar Android app that will do this?" reply.

All in a day's fun...didn't mean to rile things! Keep up the great posts! :-)

Not to sound crass, but that's pure BS. It simply reveals an impatient adult, and presents a teachable moment for kids. Personal responsibility, people....

Yes I have, and they both have their merits. For me, UltraEdit has the feature set that fits best with my needs. Here is my completely non-exhaustive list of why I favor UltraEdit over NotePad++:

Meh:

Check out the free version of DisplayFusion. I believe the free version includes the ability to customize the Functions as I described.

FastStone Capture (Windows)

UltraEdit text editor ( Multi-platform)

Yes, a thousand times yes!

Try counting backwards.

The bare bones model is without an OS, so you are free to install whatever you want.

This sounds really cool, because I'd like to take this one step (actually a very large step) farther.

What about just password protecting a folder in Windows?
