Forever etched into my mind thanks to Gran Turismo 4

That’s the first I’ve heard of that. It’s possible the C4 underwent further structural engineering while the emissions stuff was being remedied, but the official reason that production was stopped was because they weren’t allowed to sell them at all. (at least in CA)

Normally, the CA regulation happens well in advance of the federal regulation. Meaning that a car company which has to begin developing vehicles up to 10+ years in advance can have as much ability to meet these requirements as possible.

Hey guys I have this radical idea! I want to build a 3 wheel car and sell it to Americans! It could be electric or gas powered (or both! Who cares?). I only need some capital to get it going. Something around $69 Million should get my idea off the ground. I plan on having the first production models shipped to

You mentioned the moral issues in making cars inherently better than others, maybe that’s what the great war was about.

I wonder how long before we see Chinese politicing against automation in the workplace. I bet it would be worse since there are a lot more people in China than in the United States.

Are you Jarvis?

My parents have kept their 2004 Expedition for so long because it was expensive. They got it originally because the government had a subsidy for farm equipment (vehicles over 6000 lbs) and that included SUV’s. Didn’t get a highlander because it was 5950 lbs.

That was complete mis-read on my part! Looks like they had the exact thoughts I had on the jetronic

NP but why-oh-why did they put/leave on a jetronic carburetor? Those never run right! Shouldn’t be too tough to swap out I guess...

Yep you are correct. My mistake

Sell the rims, get steely’s make it a LeMons car!

Where do OEM’s fit into this?

I think you’ll get less backlash (people thinking you simply disagree with the statement and want to discredit it) if you say “over-sensationalized news.” If only one news agency picks the story up then ABC is just running a barely researched story for views/clicks.

TBH even AMC kinda made a mess of some things. For example, they used oddball spark plug connectors so that only their dealers could service the vehicles.

Less risk of getting plugged.

Paging FancyKristen...

Tesla has something like 300,000-400,000 pre-orders made for the model 3. If they can meet those orders and magically produce more than GM does for the Chevy Cruze that would make the company worth quite a lot. GM can’t make a proportional growth.

Detroit traffic is stoplights on 50 mph speed limit roads. Probably pretty close to a worst-case scenario for economy. The car also only had 2200 miles on it so it could still be breaking itself in.
