You never hang drywall vertically unless it reeeeaaallly makes sense. it makes for too many seams thats why theres such a thing as 54" wide drywall for 9' walls. hang it horizontally and stagger seams. nice theory though lol

Its so 8' plywood and drywall can break on center with a stud. same with 12' drywall. works with 24" oc layout too but that’s too weak for bearing walls. 24" oc is best left for roof trusses and non bearing interior walls.
Oh jesus... hanging drywall vertically, come on now. the space between a 16 oc stud layout is 14 1/2" lol insulation is made to fit that. your studs are gonna be 16" oc regardless of whether you layout correctly (3/4") offset or incorrectly like a fool and mark the red things on your tape with your hacked up poorly…
No. you just cut the insulation to fit the last stud bay, usually only exterior walls are insulated anyways. it is what it is... no house is built with many walls ending on an even 16 layout. the last bay is whatever it is, same with whatever is left after door kings and cripples on a consistant layout. 15 1/4"…
