They also make a sick pickup/van available in EV or with a diesel :

Stellantis already has at least 3 different electric van models (each existing in multiple size and shape) in Europe.
In Europe, rallying is still a big thing and Subaru hasn’t been officially in European or World rallyes for about 15 years.
The coolest co-opting of the Spirit of Ecstasy was bar none Serge Gainsbourg in Melody Nelson:
It is literally both of those. It is metaphorically neither of those.
He’s on an electric kick - it’s hardly a shocking or electrifying statement from him.
It is arguably the best car the company has delivered in its history.
The Audi Etron GT will essentially be this car in a cheaper Audi dress. If they can get it right it'll be a winner.
Outside of the US, Chrysler is a fucking joke and Fiat is a major global brand. I would be shocked if the Fiat brand disappeared.
No they are not, only the Mustang is selling well and it was 10k cars in 2019 in Europe which was about 7.5 times less than the USA.
You must be thinking of the Renegade which shares a platform with the 500X. The Compass doesn’t have any other current vehicles based on the same platform, but there’s supposed to be an Alfa version out sometime in the near future. The Compass is made in Italy as well as México, Brazil, China, and India.
In 2019, they sold about as much as Citroën in Europe which was like 78% of what Opel sold and 65% of what Peugeot sold.
DS sold more cars in Europe than Alfa Romeo last year and is on a upward trend while Alfa is not and it’s cars are all based on common platforms used by most of the PSA group while the Alfa models are using their own platform (and thus cost more).
Opel is kinda like Ford as far as their European brands go though. You know, when you don’t want a specific brand but you want something that is good enough and everyone knows something about, you buy a Ford? Opel is kinda that catchall for non-Ford European buyers. If they wanna buy something that isn’t American but…
Opel and DS I remember, it’s Lancia that deserves the mercy killing. From Rally all-stars, to Dodge/Chrysler rebadges, to what looks to be a compact(?) borrowing hood design cues from a pt cruiser???
How and why does this exist?
Nah, let Fiat and Peugeot make the vans too. Chrysler can make the pickup trucks.
Think about the fact that PSA was working to certify platforms and powertrains in North America rather than bringing back the Peugeot brand. Hedging their bets in both directions such as:
Booo! I love French cars. I thought Peugeot had a nice SUV ready for the U.S.
I don’t see them depreciate excessively : Old models are definitely not cheap (more expensive than 911s of the same era) ; the new models are very appreciated for their driving qualities and probably among the last fun lightweight ICE sportscar to exist, are a unique model on a unique platform and they have an aluminiu…
Yup, that’s over the top. I think some horizontal dark lines evoking the grille design of the original Renault 5 would’ve worked much better. But I’m a hardcore classic Renault fan, so my judgement is 100% biased.
