It is not legal to put a crate engine into a road legal car in the USA unless that engine is certified by the EPA.    The vast majority of the US tuning culture is illegal but enforcement is very lax.

Sod it, since driving a Leaf and a Tesla recently then hopping back in to ICE the ban on ICE couldn’t come soon enough, it’s so antiquated and unnecessary.

The Honda E does not sell as it’s an inferior offering. You can get a bigger EV with 50% more range for the same (or less!) money. And where Honda is a niche manufacturer in Europe, its competitors are not. So, it totally makes sense that it has flopped.
