Stellantis already has at least 3 different electric van models (each existing in multiple size and shape) in Europe.

The carbon taxes are not ridiculous as other manufacturers have similar models that are more powerful and faster while having sensibly lower CO2 values (and no CVT).

In Europe, rallying is still a big thing and Subaru hasn’t been officially in European or World rallyes for about 15 years.

DS is 12 years old and has been a standalone brand for 7 years with only two models available last year still managed to outsell Alfa Romeo in Europe (not sure about the whole world).

It is arguably the best car the company has delivered in its history.

It’s still based on the same design but it definitely looks better and more modern, especially the interior and the doors are making it way more usable and less basic :

Re-branding would not help, enthusiasts who would buy a muscle car would want the real deal and the price of the gas and CO2 taxation would still be a deterrent.

I think that the marketing on the Alfas was very bad and i don’t remember seeing any car of the group having a race car version lately.

In 2019, they sold about as much as Citroën in Europe which was like 78% of what Opel sold and 65% of what Peugeot sold.

Most of the Jeep in Europe are the rebadged FIATs like the Compass which is produced in Italy.

DS sold more cars in Europe than Alfa Romeo last year and is on a upward trend while Alfa is not and it’s cars are all based on common platforms used by most of the PSA group while the Alfa models are using their own platform (and thus cost more).

The 500 has just been replaced by an all new model on a new platform but it’s now only electric but won’t come to the US which now only has the 500X.

I don’t see them depreciate excessively : Old models are definitely not cheap (more expensive than 911s of the same era) ; the new models are very appreciated for their driving qualities and probably among the last fun lightweight ICE sportscar to exist, are a unique model on a unique platform and they have an aluminiu

Why bother with the V10 when the V12 TDI was a better engine or simply the newer V8 twin turbo TDI that just went out of production since it’s not sold in the Bentayga or SQ7 anymore.

While it’s only a concept at the moment, if it ends up like the Twin’run concept from 2013 that prefigured the Twingo 3, the production version could be quite close.
