Not gonna lie I was pissed when I found out Lupita was going to be a CGI character. Obviously there is more to her acting skills than being a beautiful face but I would have loved to see her as a slick bounty hunter or a rugged X-wing pilot. Giving her a CGI role just felt like such a waste.

Most people have pointed out it’s a standalone, so definitely start with American Gods. Anansi’s Boys is somewhat related and worth a read.

But if you’re looking for more Shadow he wrote one more short story about him and I can’t remember the name but I believe it was published in Gaiman’s Trigger Warning.

Same actually. Anansi’s Boys always seems to catch so much flak though but if I had to choose one over the other I’d go with AB. I would admit though that American Gods is waaaay more ambitious and I’m glad they are making it into a show.
