I don’t mind a little breathing room, but this is ridiculous. There’s so much padding and white space that the content is actually crowded out. There’s two inches of unused vertical blank space to work with on the left, yet “recommending” (ugh, don’t even get me started) a comment requires scrolling to the right.

Yes. I’ve been playing the online Kinja game on mobile and I’m wondering if there is a way to get out of the dungeon without using the wizard’s key?

The problems are fundamental with the platform, I don’t think you want to hear them. Just see all the comments people have been making since Kinja first launched. The team hasn’t done a thing to fix them.

In fairness, the Gawkerization of AVC has been evident in content for a couple years.

In all the discussion of how bad kinja’s commenting system is I lost track of how shitty its article layout is.

Thanks for the extra white space, Kinja. It really makes the JPG pop.

As an also long-term Kinja user, albeit one whose account got wiped out by this process, I can assure you that it’s at least as bad as everyone fears, probably worse.

I liked Disqus. I can’t remember a better system at any pop-culture site.

Why should I believe you? Kinja looks like shit and I rarely had problems with Disqus

Yeah, nothing about this is an improvement so far.

The thing is, it’s always been terrible. Gawker continued to use it, though, because they spent a lot of money developing it. And now that Univision owns it, they’re just going to foist it on every site. I honestly think none of the people in charge of decisions have ever used Kinja. It’s objectively horrible and a

“Kinja is horrendous on mobile”

Yep, it’s amazing how a company can spend so much money developing an internet platform that sucks at mobile and comments, two huge areas to ensure growth and constant traffic. And then that Univision would spread it like a virus. It’s almost too stupid to believe.

There’s only 88 posts at the time of posting this and two things pop out immediately

It stinks

I just went to like your comment, but only found a star. I don’t know what to do with that.

Commenting and browsing is a laggy nightmare on mobile, let alone hoping to find a damn thing. This is 10x worse than anticipated as a primarily mobile user.

The KinjAV Club

Merging my Disqus and Kinja accounts doesn’t work. Also, the site is ugly and soulless, like Gawker. I’m pretty sad about this whole thing. :(

Nice tongue-in-cheek headline there, folks.
