And then to have "Her Majesty" be the perfect little end cap to those tracks. Abbey Road is the best.

I would love a Lin Shaye - Beth Grant buddy cop movie.

And it's such a 'counselor' thing to do. He needed to psych himself up so he got some self-help tapes.

Major definitely had the best character arc. It's amazing how far he's come from the pilot.

I would be totally fine if Penny Dreadful became a hangout show.

Maybe it was something with her wig?

Um. No. Not even close.

I loved Evelyn's riding outfit. That shit was gorgeous.

Looked like CGI to me.

I mean, the Cutwife's piercing eyes through the black tar? That is seared into my brain.

Enlisted! Sad that it only got one season, but what a great season that was.

The sad part is I saw the book but didn't get the joke until I read this. :(

I love how worse and worse Major's injuries get every episode. I think it's also a wicked sense of comedy to have such a prettyboy actor look like shit.

"I set fires to feel joy."

She also gets to shamelessly flirt with Timothy Dalton!

Lots of great little design bits that I really dug in this episode:

Initially, I was a bit underwhelmed with that scene. The creepy dolls are so cliche. The baby looked totally fake. The heart looked like it had rubber tubing coming out of it. But as the scene went on it just started to work. The dolls got truly creepy. The sound of the scalpel going into the flesh and Poole stitching

This is the first time I've ever liked the Creature/John Clare. Eva Green just makes everything better.

Mugatu and the Gatekeeper. Nailed it.
