My service manager told me that on a certain GM G-body from the 80s the cruise control would be inoperative if the 3rd brake lamp bulbs burned out.

Thanks for pointing this one out. I’ve brought this up many times and often get crazy looks when I do.
I had a few GM vehicles that did that. Wish I knew how to make it break in suck a way since I actually found that a nice feature.
If you correctly weld the penny to the gas tank it can fix a small leak. I’ve heard that one a few times but I’ve never seen or recommend welding anything to a leaking fuel tank.
Those conditions may be related. If oil level gets too low it will cause the cam actuators on the timing chains to collapse and will result ins a CEL and can induce stalling. We’ve done well over 100 piston/timing chain replacement all under warranty. I’ve never had one comeback with continued comsumption afterward.
Yeah, seems like the entire power steering system leak/fail before 100k and is VERY costly to repair. Also plagued by timing chain and transmission failures. Great vehicle to lease with no intention of a buy out so be prepare to spend money after warranty is out. Terrain is based off the Equinox which is much more…
As a GM guy I will defend the product when I think the opinion is wrong. My opinion is based off of years of experience with theses vehicle. But at the same time I will not make an invalid argument. I’ve told many of my loyal customers which GM products to stay away from over the years (I’m looking at you Traverse).
GM does now make a coated prebent brake line kit for these trucks. 2014 trucks and later come stock with coated lines.
I’ve been working at a Chevrolet dealer for 12 years now and I have to say these are great trucks. What are all the issues that you say cause them to be “garbage” besides the tailgate issue? I’ve seen many of these trucks get over the 200k mark with minimal maintenance performed. Sure over time anything will break…
This one is sad. Truck seems to be in very good shape and I would likley vote NP in stock form. This thing is just so ugly. If it was in my driveway I think my neighbors would petition for it’s removal.
If you are comparing to the Stingray, then yes cheaper but less hp by almost 200. When comparing to the Z06 which shares the same engine that car starts over $75k which makes the Camaro the bargain.
Not my style, and that intake drives me crazy. CP!
How have I not seen this before.
Statistics state the 3.7% of Americans over 26 years of age have smoked crack.
This may the best crack pipe example I’ve seen here. 24 hours from now I’m gonna try to figure out what wrong with you who have voted NP.
This makes me think of those overdone 4wd trucks you always see at shows with all the suspension and drivetrain parts chromed. You know the truck never has and never will go off road. Maybe nice to look at but it ends there. CP!
Does Ford still own the rights to Lynx?
Alright! hope the porta potty is close since I’ll being drinking Mountain Dew straight from the 2L bottle.
Another often overlooked/forgotten American car. One day It will get the credit it deserved.
You win.
