That loud clicking noise you hear tonight at 10:30 will be from remotes switching from Archer on FX over to Rick and Morty on Adult Swim.

What about the voice of Geddy Lee / How did it get so high? / I wonder if he speaks like an ordinary guy? / (I know him and he does!)
Nice to see this column back, this is exactly the kind of thing A.V. Club should be doing.
This is broadcast network TV. High quality and big ratings don't exactly have a strong correlation.
Good point. I think if Gene had actually seen Cheers, he'd be more of a Kirstie Alley guy.
Not sure how Gene knows so much about Cheers, but that line made me really jealous of Bob for having such an awesome kid.
He was a blend of the worst aspects of Penn Jillette and Orson Welles.
If cardboard could spit
I would, on you
What else would you expect from someone who farted on the meat?
Damn, how could I forget Celebrity Poker Showdown, I almost certainly watched that one!
Oh yes, Dierdorf going on and on about what a bad break the safety was for the Patriots was just sad. I kinda felt embarrassed for him.
Do we have any idea which one(s)?
I assume this stuff gets at least triple-Googled before the game, so how a mistake that clear got all the way through is quite strange.
To hear Lange tell it, the producers told him to go out and be outrageous because the show was so deadly dull. Well, he did that, didn't he?
When Alex says "trivia" in that context, he probably means pop culture bullshit. When it comes to knowledge a properly educated person should have (classic literature, history, etc.), he certainly acts as if he's very disappointed in the contestants for not knowing that kind of material.
And ABC can't figure out that yanking shows left and right just encourages people not to get involved with their new shows in the first place. Compare that to cable, where even flops get to air all their episodes.
Back when Millionaire was big and Alex made some kind of disparaging remark about it, I understand that they invited him onto the celebrity version and he turned it down, even though Regis did celebrity Jeopardy! In fact, I don't ever remember Alex participating in "game show host" weeks like they used to do on shows…
And what's all this about things being "clean as a whistle"? To my knowledge, whistles are covered with people's spit. Not my idea of cleanliness, I tell you what.
I'm guessing the Seahawks are rooting for Carolina too, since they'd likely anticipate an easier time against the Panthers next week, while a 49ers rematch would probably be a war.
Not that there's anything wrong with that.
