Yeah, that's the most common FJ wagering error I notice…when the second place player has nearly as much as the leader while having third place well-covered, and bets very big (sometimes everything but a dollar).

Given how frequently we see huge wagering mistakes, it's obvious that many players simply don't prepare themselves for handling those type of situations in training for their appearances.
Glad you like it, thanks for the kind words!
I started this just after the new season began this past September. Someone in the comments said A.V. Club should be reviewing Jeopardy!, so I figured, what the hell, I'll do it.
Which should have benefited Community as well as TBBT, but for whatever reason it didn't seem to.
That would seem logical - except TBBT had another incredible ratings night.
Really have to wonder if NBC would dare have a fall schedule with no sitcoms. Because at this point, it would be hard to blame them.
True that his DD aggressiveness cost him in this instance, but in the long run the way Jerry played the DDs was the right way to go.
Jerry repeating the incorrect Holland Tunnel response just before that last DD was really weird, too. Maybe he was getting tired, but for whatever reason, Jerry was really off his game.
Jeopardy! thread for Thur., Jan.2 - Champ Jerry’s winning streak came to a shocking end in this game. His troubles began after Sarah ran the Jane Austen category early in DJ to take a big lead, after which Jerry hit a DD, bet everything in an attempt to catch up and missed. Late in the game Jerry picked the other DD,…
Ha! I completely missed that, I went back and looked and you are absolutely right, good catch! It kind of looked like Alex was trying to eat his words as he was saying it, but it was too late.
Perhaps in the heat of the game, she wasn't aware that she was just short of one-half Jerry's score. Otherwise, she should realize she's got nothing to lose by taking a stab.
I must say, I have no freakin' idea how a lot of the contestants this season ever got past that online exam.
P&R has been plugging away at around a 1.2 in the 8 PM slot. Now it moves to 8:30, traditionally the toughest slot in the NBC Thursday lineup, so it's probably fair to expect that it might slip to a 1.1 average there.
Yeah, I got a real "WTF" vibe from Alex when he read the "NSA" response.
The good news: Community might well emerge as NBC's highest-rated sitcom over the next few months. The bad news: Community will get around one-fifth of the viewership of The Big Bang Theory.
Also acceptable: Abed's impression of Frank Caliendo's impression of Robert De Niro.
Jeopardy! thread for Wed., Jan. 1 - Champ Jerry had a slim lead early in DJ when he went all-in on a DD and doubled up, then kept building to a runaway advantage heading into this Final:
Oh, lots of younger people watch the procedurals. It's just that it seems that nearly *every* older person watches them.
Indeed, say what you will about the scripts, but the casting on that show was simply amazing.
