The banishment to Friday is more baffling when you consider that the two new shows ABC put on Fridays, Back in the Game and Super Fun Night, are both virtual non-starters. So it's not like they had to kick The Neighbors out in favor of some sure-fire, can't miss prospects.

"…the ratings have fallen off from the lead-in, sometimes by quite a bit. Things turned around somewhat last week…"

I am very upset that they dare to think they can improve on the original classic with Ron Glass and Demond Wilson.

I believe this was originally pitched to ABC under the title "Don't Trust the B——— Executioner in Castle 23".

Hell, the third-tier celebs who used to appear on The $20,000 Pyramid had more name recognition than today's ABC prime time stars.

Seriously, that would be interesting, especially for the supporting players. For example, why did get Marilu Hanner get a shout-out over Tony Danza? Frank Gifford over Fran Tarkenton? Betty Garrett over Eddie Mekka? The questions are endless!

What, wasn't Andy Dick available for this role?

"Tonight's Episode: The Soulless Money Grab"

Peter Lupus is still available. In fact, they should have used him in the movie in the first place.

Agreed, basing your wagers on the logical behavior of your opponents is a very, very tricky business. That's one reason the leader tends to almost always bet enough to cover the second place player, even if the player in second's best play isn't to bet everything.

Great ABC promo there, it's kind of a network TV version of "We Didn't Start the Fire". Thought Ernie was gonna break into a full-on rap for a second.

Bob certainly still had his wits about him, even if he wasn't moving around that well during this appearance. He is very much missed for sure.

You can make a case for Rachel betting everything if she loved the category and could reasonably give Woody credit for knowing that he should be betting exactly $4,200. But it had to be all or nothing, which of course she didn't do.

"…the first season just seemed to promise something so much more; so much more thoughtful, so much more relevant…"

Agreed about the unhelpful clue - a good Final should offer a logical way to figure it out if you don't know it off the bat, but if that existed in this case, I still don't see it.

Jeopardy! thread for Thur., Dec. 12 - Low-scoring affair in which the two challengers were the only players truly in contention facing this Final:

I think Super Fun Night was assumed to be cancelled even before it premiered, so people sort of wrote it off.

Didn't Fox try this with Undeclared? Didn't exactly turn the show into a ratings smash, did it?

The only real laughs I got out of Desmond were the couple of times that he channeled Ralph Kramden when dealing with Niblet.

Hey, we're both as bitingly satirical and topical as SNL! They should hire us to write this gold!
