In sticking with a show like this, it really helps if you like the performers going in, and the producers or network have a track record that inspires confidence that they'll deliver the goods.
Completely agree, the concept in the early seasons of two ideological opposites finding a way to still respect and care for each other was very heartwarming. It seemed to slip away as the comedy gradually became more broad.

Perhaps this show would benefit from a slightly shorter season, maybe 10 episodes as Always Sunny has done recently, to weed out some of the weaker material.
That pilot she did for NBC was really good too, although it really had more of an IFC sensibility than broadcast network, so I'm not surprised NBC passed on it.
After seeing five of the six contestants from this week's previous games bomb out on FJ, it was nice of the show to serve up a real softball for everyone to hit out of the park.
