Gozongas?
Gozongas?
Jeopardy! thread for Wed., Nov. 20 - I didn't get to see this episode, because for some reason my local affiliate put on a rerun. However, through the magic of the intertubes, I can share that the Final went as follows:
And the one in which Strike Back sweeps the Emmys.
“This is typical banter."
The type of stand-up routine you typically see on Comedy Central - fast-paced, lots of bleeps, a laugh expected every ten seconds, as opposed to Cosby's relaxed, story-telling style.
The difference in wagering in Vegas and Jeopardy! is that in the latter case, we're not talking about gambling with one's own money but maximizing the chances of finishing first in a contest where the only real value is in winning. Most Vegas gamblers people of average intelligence who are there for fun, with no real…
You are correct. "Left it all out on the field" and "didn't give 110 percent" are completely contradictory statements, which was hopefully written that way on purpose for comedic effect (but somehow I doubt it).
Also gotta throw some love toward The Angels, The Pixies Three and Reparata and the Delrons.
Or vice versa.
The Kathy-Anderson show on New Year's Eve is surprisingly tolerable.
Agreed that's probably what he was thinking, but for someone to come that far in a Jeopardy! tournament then have such a lack of confidence at a crucial time…at that point, you just have to go for it and whatever happens, happens.
It was on the edge of success, but just seemed to lack a crucial intangible element to be a consistent winner.

The Quest is described as "Lord of the Rings" meets "The Amazing Race". Guess they got cold feet about throwing it into the death slot.
I see Samberg's character as seemingly intended to be in the tradition of Hawkeye Pierce or Gregory House - an unconventional smartass that everyone puts up with because he's *so damn good* at his job and gets the results that no one else can.
The DTRT reference didn't really distract me, but the movie was the first thing I thought of when I saw "Sal's Pizza".
Yeah, they didn't make it clear at first that it wasn't blood. Add in the cartoon nudity and the whole sequence was pretty far out there on the weirdness scale.
Strange…last week they had a Steven Universe review and suggested that if the demand was there, they would add it to the roster. The review got a ton of comments and requests for more, then this week…nothing.
I think the reviewer's point is that compared to another comedy legend such as George Carlin, who maintained his relevance right to the end, Cosby's material is rooted in a sensibility of the past. Cosby is worth watching only to the extent that the viewer finds him to be personally funny or charming, but don't…
