This episode always felt like a "spinoff creation" episode.  (There was an Inventory about those.)  Obviously it wasn't intended as that, but that was still the vibe I got from it.  I rewatched the 4th season a few weeks ago, and this still felt out of place.  The West Wing does such a great job informing us of

I couldn't agree more.  I would love to see it featured.  There are some darker themes, too.

The fact that he managed that for a year still fascinates me.  Especially when you consider that his scripts for both shows were, by virtue of his own writing style, much, much longer than most TV scripts.
